He was predeceased by: his parents, William McLean and Veronica McLean; his daughter Shannon; and his brothers, Billy, Leon, Bobby and Lorne.

He is survived by: his children, John-Paul, Tara, Aaron and Amy; his siblings, Jack (Maureen), Debbie (Bryce), Danny and Debra; and his nieces and nephews, Shaun, Jason (Jamie), Amber (Jason), Cheyenne (Paul), Dylan (Nicole), Jacob (Brittany), Patrick (Alex) and Ashley.
