He was predeceased by: his spouse Lois; and also Gerald Nelson of New Zealand. He is survived by: his children, Laura Starkey (Dave) and Allan Nelson (Dawn); his grandchildren, Jennifer of Kimberly, Sean, Jonathan (Darcy) and Krista; and his siblings, David Nelson (Sarah) and Pauline Harrison (John) of England.
