He was predeceased by: his parents, Leo McDonald and Eleanor McDonald; his grandson Connor Vella; and his brother Ed (Kerry). He is survived by: his wife Rosemary (McBride); his children, Jacqueline (Terry Vella) and Derek (Erin Besso); his grandchildren, Cameron, Colin Vella, Aiden, Morgan and Tye McDonald; his siblings, Dalton (Heather) and Rosalie (Greg Clarke); his mother-in-law Mary McBride (late Howard); and his sister-in-law Dianne (Jim Greer).
In lieu of flowers, donations will be gratefully accepted by the Victorian Order of Nurses Hastings Northumberland Prince Edward, who cared for him during lengthy recoveries.
