He was predeceased by: his parents, Giovanni and Maria; his parents-in-law, Frank and Maria Ignazzitto; and his siblings, Placida (Giuseppe), Frank (Susan) and Joe.

He is survived by: his wife Angelina; his children, John (Sheri) and Francis (Debbie); his grandchildren, Christopher and Natalie (Noah); and his siblings, Antonio (Giuseppina), Biagio (Jeannette), Lina (Pasquale), Angelo (Marion), Maria Jeanne (late Vance) and Elizabeth (Tony). He is also survived by his numerous nieces and nephews, family, neighbours and friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Salvatore may be made to the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, the hospital that gave him hope and he cherished all they did for him.
