He was predeceased by: his wife Tina; his daughter Candi; his parents, Leo Brake and Constance Brake; his siblings, Eva, Genice Brake and Urban Brake; and his niece Connie Pike.

He is survived by: his siblings, Jo Pike (Peter) of Stephenville, NL, Claudia Freake (Tony) of Horwood, NL and Marcel Brake (Brenda) of Greenwood, NS; his sister-in-law Carolyn Brake of Wabush, NL; his siblings' children, Vance Pike (Renee) of Labrador City, NL, Genice Brake (Darren) of Labrador City, NL and Jade Brake (Greg) of Labrador City; his great-nephews, Nathan and Ryan (Genice); and his great-niece Aspen (Jade). He is also survived by many relatives and friends.
