He was predeceased by: his siblings, Colette, Jean, Robert, Paul, Pierre, Jacques and Claude.

He is survived by: his wife Carmen; his children, Julie (Denis Châteauvert), Marc (Alena Hruska) and Jean-François; his grandchildren, Andrée Grégoire (Philippe), Dominik S. Sirois (Dominik), Tasha Dufault (Krzys) and Martin Dufault (Sarah); his great grandchildren, Bianca, Olivia, Onyx, Dimitri and Samuel; and his parents, Auguste Dufault and Albertine Quesnel.

In his memory, in lieu of flowers, donations to The Ottawa Hospital Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
