He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl and Mabel (Halverson); his sisters, Joanie and Joyce; and his grandson Thomas.

He is survived by: his wife Lynda; his children, Mark (Chantal) and Melissa (Stephan); his grandchildren, Liam, Clara, Meah and Daneeka; his siblings, Brenda (late Brian Moore), Gail (late Dave Beattie) and George (Cathy); his mother-in-law Ruby (late Owen Harris); and his brother-in-law Richard Harris (Judy). He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
