She was predeceased by: her parents, Barkat Ram and Sumitra Devi; and her spouse Dharampal Tanotra. She is survived by: her siblings, Sushil Kaushal (Saroj) and Ashok Kaushal (Pushpa); and her children, Joy "Raju" Tanotra (Jyoti), Veeran (Suraj Harish), Anita (Ashwini Chopra), Meenakshi (late S. D. Rehan) and Madhu (late Vijay Mahajan). She is also survived by her 13 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
