He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Carey and Lillian Bennings; his sister Elizabeth; and his stepfather Joseph Bennings. He is survived by: his wife Thérèse Carey (Fournier); his children, Sharon Carey, Robert Carey, Linda Fitzsimmons and Brian Carey; his grandchildren, Caree McCullough, Alicia Fitzsimmons Hamilton, Alex Fitzsimmons, Julia Potvin, Taryn Carey and Megan Carey; and his great grandchildren, Ryleigh, Kailey, Kamila, Isla, Audrey, Hannah and Wolfgang.
