Elias Acar Obituary
With sadness, we share the passing of Elias Acar (Ottawa, Ontario). Elias, born on June 30, 1936, passed away on September 30, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his brothers, Gaby (Lody Sadek) and Farah; Shahid (Sonia Wakim). He is survived by: his spouse Najwa Jeha; his children, Viviane (Nader Hajjar), Nathalie (Eli Ayoub) and Gabriel; his granddaughter Ellie Ayoub; his siblings, Dr. Ibrahim (Samia Farah), Nour and Asma; and his siblings-in-law, Mikhael (late Antoinette Salloum), Nicholas (Nassima Nassif), Farah (Farida Jeha), Nouhad (late Frank Laham) and Samia (Yakoub Doujeiji). He is also survived by his many nieces, nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 4th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Shields Funeral Homes & Chapel (1411 Hunt Club Rd, Ottawa, ON K1V1A6). A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 5th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Saint Elias Cathedral (2975 Riverside Dr., Ottawa, ON K1V0Z3). A committal service will be held on Monday, October 5th 2026 from 12:30 PM to 12:45 PM at the Hope Cemetery (4660 Bank St, Gloucester, ON K1T0Y7). A burial will be held on Monday, October 5th 2026 at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Elias' memory to St. Elias Cathedral or Glebe Long-Term Care Facility would be appreciated.
