He was predeceased by: his parents, Emerson and Ethel; and his siblings, Gene, Clinton, Kieth and Pamela.

He is survived by: his wife Mona Ishack; his children, Michael, Angela (Peter Thompson) and Sandra (Vasco Carvalho); his grandchildren, Nicholas, Laura, Samantha and Dionisio; and his siblings, Linda, Darlene, June and Dean. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to support cancer research and treatment programs such as The Ottawa Hospital Hematology Unit or the Ottawa Cancer Foundation.
