He was predeceased by: his wife Dorothy; his sisters, Emma Lafleur (late Bill), Willa McKay (late Basil) and Erma Marcenko (late Bill); and his siblings-in-law, Mary Gordon (late Melbourne) and Maurice Saunders (Diane).

He is survived by: his daughters, Joanne Read (Bill Davies), Heather Clarke (Kevin) and Lori Porteous (Jason); his grandchildren, Chris (Tanya), Lindsey (Charles), Conner (Ashley), Brendan (Sierra) and Dylan (Bryn); his stepgrandchildren, Parker and Garrett; his great grandchildren, Weston and Clarke; his pet Hunter; and his sisters, Betty Carroll (late Tom) and Grace Scott (late Bert). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
