He is survived by: his wife Lynn Scrim; his stepdaughter Candice McGahern; his granddaughters, Olivia and Katie; his sister Gail Mann (Pat); his nieces, Cathy (Mario) and Kim; his nephew Robbie; his cousin Sid Sheen; his great-niece Bryanna; and his great-nephew Spencer. He is also survived by many other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Gary's memory may be made to the Dementia Society or the St. Patrick's Home of Ottawa Foundation.
