He was predeceased by: his parents, Léo Tessier and Pierrette Tessier; and his parents-in-law, Léopold Landry and Annie Landry. He is survived by: his wife Lise; his sons, Patrick, Lindsay Tessier and Luc (Amanda Romeo); his grandchildren, Gabriel and Alessia; his sisters, Nathalie Tessier-Ross (Mike Ross) and Constance Tessier (Jean Turcotte); his nieces, Chantal and Sonia Hudon; his brother Jean; his sister-in-law Johanne Landry; his niece Josée-Anne Landry (Bobby Roy); his great-nieces and great-nephews, Dylan and Olivier; and his nephew Daniel Landry (Kate).

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to the University of Ottawa Heart Institute Foundation.
