Harvey Voldeng Obituary

We announce the death of Harvey Voldeng (Ottawa, Ontario), born in Spalding, Saskatchewan, who passed away on July 22, 2026, at the age of 85. Harvey will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his wife Evelyne Latuner; his parents, Jens Voldeng and Edna Voldeng; and his brother-in-law Oswald Leicht. He is survived by: his brother Ronald (Claire); his nephew Jason (Lisa); his niece Renelle (Todd); his great-nieces and great-nephews, Everett and Lachlan; his sister Linda Leicht; his nephew Troy (Bonnie); his great-niece Julia; his great-nephew Levi; his niece Kim Leicht; Shea.

He officially retired in 2012, but his passion for the work never really stopped - he continued as an Honorary Research Associate and advisor at the Ottawa Research and Development Centre until 2020, when the COVID-19 pandemic closed the facility's doors.
