He is survived by: his wife Vita; his children, Jana (Christopher Kaps) and Andrejs (Sheri Williams); his grandchildren, Alexander, Maxwell and Maija Kaps; his sister-in-law Ruta Čube; and his cousins, Aivars, Linda and Anita.

Visitation was held on Saturday, February 28th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & Mc (315 McLeod St, Ottawa, ON K2P1A2). A memorial service was held on Saturday, February 28th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A reception was held on Saturday, February 28th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
