It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Michel Calixte of Ottawa, Ontario, who passed away on January 3, 2026, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Calixte and Roselia Nicolas; and his former wife Martha Camille. He is survived by: his wife Guerda Garnier; his son Vianney (Melanie); his granddaughters, Chloé (Diego), Céleste (Alexandre) and Vianna; his great grandchildren, Amaya, Amiel and Mateas; and his siblings, Joseph-Édouard Calixte, Pierre-René Calixte, Georgette Calixte and Prosper Calixte.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, January 13th 2026 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the McEvoy and Shields Funeral Home (1411 Hunt Club Rd, Ottawa, ON K1V1A6). A funeral Mass was held on Wednesday, January 14th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Sainte-Genevieve Parish (825 Canterbury Ave, Ottawa, ON K1G 3A2). A burial was held on Wednesday, January 14th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM at the Hope Cemetery (4660 Bank St, Gloucester, ON K1T0Y7). A reception was held on Wednesday, January 14th 2026 from 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM at the Shields Funeral Homes & Chapel (1411 Hunt Club Rd, Ottawa, ON K1V1A6).
