He was predeceased by: his parents, Catharine James and Gerald James (Ted); his former wives, Eva James and Jocelyne Robert; and his sister Edith Helsby.
He is survived by: his wife Kathleen McGuire; his children, Katharine James (Derek Lomer), Lisa James and Peter James (Matthew Snyder); his grandchildren, Kira, Dylan, Lia, Jennifer and Makenna; his siblings, Elizabeth Dassin (Marcel), Harry James (Winnie) and Mary Small; his brother-in-law Colin Helsby; and his stepchildren, Benoit Robert, Jerome, Phillipe Tanguay, Michael, David and Emily Sheehan.
In light of COVID-19 restrictions, a memorial service will be planned for a future date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Canadian Cancer Society.
