He was predeceased by: his brother Dr. C. Tissa Kappagoda (Professor). He is survived by: his wife Dr. H. Subadra Kappagoda; his daughter Samantha Kappagoda; his son-in-law Dr. David K. A. Mordecai of New York; his son Sunil Kappagoda; and his grandchild Allegra Kappagoda of Chicago.

A funeral service was held on Tuesday, September 1st 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Pilon Family Chapel (50 John St N, Arnprior, ON K7S2N2).
