He was predeceased by: his parents, Orbin Van Tassel and Mabel Tucker; and his siblings, Jean, Audrey, June, Kenneth, Guy, Russell and Dennis.
He is survived by: his brother Ronald; his wife E. Ruth Carter; his daughters, Rachael Van Tassel (Emanuel) and Rosalind Helgason; and his grandchildren, Rick (Liz), Arthur and Katrina (Antonio).
