He was predeceased by: his parents, Léonard Besner and Odile Marleau; his sister Muriel; and the mother of his children Paulette Giroux. He is survived by: his wife Annette; his daughters, Lucie (Daniel) and Louise; his granddaughters, Sonia (Jessika) and Valerie; his great grandchildren, Octavia, Madrix, Daxel and Destiny; and his brothers, Réjean (Lucille) and Gérald (Monique). He is also survived by many other family members and close friends.
A wake was held on Thursday, March 5th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Racine, Robert & Gauthier Funeral Home (180 Montréal Rd, Ottawa, ON K1A0S2). A funeral Mass was held on Friday, March 6th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the St-Sebastien Church (1000 Frances St, Ottawa, ON K1K 3L5).
