He was loved and cherished by many people including : his parents, Jim Burtt and Debbie Rice; his siblings, Cindy, Michael and Melissa; and his grandparents, Wanda Burtt (late Gerry), Lola and Orville Rice. He was also cherished by many aunts and uncles, cousins, family and friends.

A funeral service was held on Tuesday, April 30th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Pinecrest Remembrance Chapel (2500 Baseline Rd, Ottawa, ON K2C3H9). A burial was held on Tuesday, April 30th 2024 at 11:45 AM at the Pinecrest Cemetery.
