She was predeceased by: her husband Dr. Nakhate Vittal Rao. She is survived by: her children, Atul Nakhate Rao, Ajit Nakhate Rao and Sheila Nakhate Rao; her grandchildren, James Narayan Rao, Siddhartha H. Rao and Safia H. Rao; and her great grandchild Miles Sztainbok Rao.
