He was predeceased by : his parents, Willem Van Hofwegen and Adriana Van Hofwegen; his siblings, Johanna (Henk Engelberts), Annie (David van Heusden) and Herbert Van Hofwegen (Carry Van Hofwegen); and his grandsons, Benjamin House and Evan Poole.

He is survived by : his wife Cathy; his children, Esther (Robert House), Eric (Charlene Van Hofwegen), Joy (Tim Ruga), Harry (Angela Van Hofwegen) and Miriam (Richard Poole); and his great grandchildren, James, Julianna House, Darren House, Anne, Howard House, Kristy, Etienne Leger, Scott, Sophie Ruga (Catherine), Bradley, Bethany Ruga (Colin), Hannah Van Hofwegen, Adam Van Hofwegen, Rebekah, Daniel, Katelyn and Emily Poole.
