It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of William Meredith Macdonnell (Ottawa, Ontario), who passed away on December 31, 2025, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Daniel James Macdonnell and Frances Beverley Macdonnell. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Norman; his daughter Kate Macdonnell; the mother of his children Gillian Macdonnell; his grandchildren, Cameron, Jackson, Charlie, Helena and Otto; his siblings, Frances Buchan Macdonnell and James Fergus Macdonnell (Sandra); and his siblings-in-law, Judith MacDonald (John) and Michael Norman (Sally).
Visitation was held on Friday, January 9th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & Mc (315 McLeod St, Ottawa, ON K2P1A2). A memorial service was held on Saturday, January 10th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the St. Barnabas Anglican Church (70 James St, Ottawa, ON K1R5M3). A reception was held on Saturday, January 10th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
