He was predeceased by: his parents, Edith Schmidtke and Ferdinand Schmidtke; his mother-in-law Betty King; and his brother-in-law Kevin King. He is survived by: his wife Barb; his children, Shannon Gingrich (Kevin) and Ryan Schmidtke (Melinda); his grandchildren, Joshuah, Cody Gingrich, Oliver, Maya and Simon Schmidtke; his brother Peter Schmidtke (Penny); his siblings-in-law, Karen Yardley (Jim), Jill King and Jeff King (Meredith); and his father-in-law Willard King. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
