He was predeceased by: his parents, Gerrit Bouius and Wiebkje "Wendy" Bouius (Klaver); his siblings, Edith Binnendyk (Dick), Binnie Van Beek (Hank), Harry Bouius, Ann Haverson and Rudi Bouius (Ria); and his brothers-in-law, Frank Wagner and Don Forrest.

He is survived by: his pets, Funny and King; his spouse Orion "Ruth" (Abernethy); his sons, Peter (Julie) and Paul (Christine); his grandchildren, Noah (Melody), Brianna, Jadon, Tristan and Eli; his sibling Gail Wagner; and his sister-in-law Eunice Abernethy. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews.
