He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Lawton and Lela Lawton; his parents-in-law, Vern and Rebecca Jubenville; and his siblings, Eldon Lawton (Bev), Janet Lawton (Linda), John Uher (Dowie) and Margie Lawton (John Lawton).
He is survived by: his wife Becky Anne Lawton; his children, Celeste Lawton (Dave Wood), Ben, Andrea Lawton, Ashley and Marie Lawton; and his siblings-in-law, Barbara Lawton and Terry (Evelyn Jubenville). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, friends.
Visitation was held on Thursday, January 8th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the McKinlay Funeral Home - Chatham (459 St Clair St, Chatham, ON N7L3K6). A funeral service was held on Friday, January 9th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, donations made in memory of Ben to the Chatham-Kent Hospice Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
