He was loved and cherished by many people including : his wife Michelle; his children, Tyler, Camille, Katelin and Kristen; his mother Margaret Skinner; his siblings, Steve Miller, Cheryl, Dave Podetz, Amanda Maynard and Timothy Skinner; his mother-in-law Cecile Pineault; his siblings-in-law, Paul Pineault and Cathy Lawrence; and also Ethen.

Chris Huber wrote a sympathy message

“My condolences to you and your children. I don’t know your family but lately I’ve noticed a man walking by our home in Rothsay, I know now that his name was Darrell. He was walking slower for his age and it seemed like he just had a surgery. I thought of him often and wished him all the best. I’m sorry to hear that he’s passed. I wished he could have beat whatever was against him.”
