Deborah Downey Obituary

The memory of Deborah Downey (Paris, Ontario), born in Brantford, Ontario, who passed away on October 27, 2025 at the age of 72, will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by this precious presence in their lives. She was loved and cherished by many people including: her husband Donald Downey; her children, Nick (Nancy), Emily Gabriel (Ian), Vanessa Dargie (Steve) and Patrick (Cait); her grandchildren, Cole, Finnegan, Talia, Josh and Abbey Gabriel; her nephew Andrew Story; her parents, Ernest Lea Sayles and Dorothy Simone (Girard); and her sister Heather Smeadly (Andrew).

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 22nd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St James Church (8 Burwell St, Paris, ON N3L2C5).

In lieu of flowers, Deborah would prefer that you donate to The Owl Foundation in Niagara On The Lake or to the "Help Us Survive Without Deborah's Unsolicited Critiques" fund.
