He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Merikle and Helen Merikle; his brother Bill Merikle; and his nephew Billy Merikle. He is survived by: his children, Elizabeth (Alfonso) and John (Anne); his stepchildren, Daniel and Tara (Brian); his grandchildren, Kate, Joe, Skylar and Ryker; and his niece Dori Merikle (Patti).
