He is survived by: his children, Christiana, Benita (late Gord) and Gary (Sharron); his great grandchildren, Martin, Samuel, Luna, Maple, Isabelle, Jansen, McKayla, Lucas, Timothy, Griffin, Amelia, Mabel, Elsie, Svea and Peter; his brother Manfred (Elke); and his extended family Germany of Latvia, USA. He is also survived by 3 sisters and 1 brother, cousins, nieces, nephews.

As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Red Cross are appreciated.
