He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Macheska and Roma Macheska; and his brother David Marcus. He is survived by: his sibling's children, Pauline Smith (Richard), Laura Dumont (Bruce) and Gregory Marcus (Francine); his great-nephews, Christopher Smith (Halina), Matthew Dumont (Kendra), Jacob Dumont (Claire) and Nicholas Dumont; and his great-niece Lyla Smith.
