David Welsh Wooddell Obituary

David Welsh Wooddell (Pembroke, Ontario), who passed away on June 6, 2025, at the age of 74. Family, friends and David himself were surprised with his brain cancer diagnosis just two months ago.

David was an author, journalist, musician and photographer with a long career at National Geographic Society, and other magazines. He is survived by his spouse, Kat Forder, son Daniel Wooddell, and brother Richard Wooddell, along with dear friends and loved ones around the world.

David loved a good donut, his much loved dog, and the occasional hot dog. Acoustic guitar and a good cup of tea were essential parts of his day.
