He was predeceased by: his sister Donna Desjardins; and his parents, Albert Desjardins and Dorella Desjardins. He is survived by: his wife Velma Desjardins; his sons, Warren and Kirk Desjardins; his stepchildren, Nicole Carley (Todd), Carleton Place and Jason Spinelli (Kim); his grandchildren, Gavin, Garret Carley and Cole Spinelli; his siblings, Bonita Costello (Dominic), June-Anne Kerr, Donnie Desjardins, Gertrude Howard (late Ellard), Raymond and Frank; his siblings-in-law, Jim, Faye Kohlsmith, William, Judy Kohlsmith, Larry, Kathy Kohlsmith and Carol Kohlsmith (late Donald); and his parent-in-law Ivon Kohlsmith. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
