He was predeceased by: his wife Mavis Pixley; his daughter Barbara; his grandson Shawn Doubois; his parents, Asa Pixley and Emma Pixley; and his siblings, Dean Pixley (late Barb) and Marion Peterson (late Ron).

He is survived by: his friend Ruby Davidson; his children, Sharon Stanovie (Jim), Lee Ann Vynckier (Steve) and Bruce Pixley; his grandchildren, Jessica, Cheryl and Brian Kovats (Tania); his great grandchildren, Rylee, Nature, Rain and Autumn; his sibling's children, Ruth, John and Ace; and his sister-in-law Geraldine Wyise.
