He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Nicole East; his children, Michael Schimmens (Leslie), Sylvette Brousseau (David) and Chantal Rioux; his grandfathers, Paige, Matthieu, Luxzen, Garnet, Benjamin and Gregory; his sisters, Alice Mercer (Shawn), Nancy Schimmens and Joy; and his parents, Mary Schimmens and Mervin Schimmens.
