With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Mathew Deschene (Pembroke, Ontario), who passed away on November 26, 2025 at the age of 40. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He is survived by: his sons, Braeden and Brodie; the mother of his children Stephanie; his girlfriend Joanne Schimmens; his girlfriend's children, Parker and Elisabeth; his parents, Marcel Deschene and Julie Guindon; his sibling Lindsay Deschene; and his nieces and nephews, Jaxon, Hudson, Hayden and Lexi.
To honour Mat's memory and his dedication to the fire service, the family asks that donations be made to the Ottawa First Responders Foundation, supporting mental-health programs for firefighters.
