With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Mathew Deschene (Pembroke, Ontario), who passed away on November 26, 2025 at the age of 40. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He is survived by: his sons, Braeden and Brodie; the mother of his children Stephanie; his girlfriend Joanne Schimmens; his girlfriend's children, Parker and Elisabeth; his parents, Marcel Deschene and Julie Guindon; his sibling Lindsay Deschene; and his sibling's children, Jaxon, Hudson, Hayden and Lexi.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 9th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Neville Funeral Home (491 Isabella St, Pembroke, ON K8A5T8). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 10th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the Chapel of the Neville Funeral Home (491 Isabella St, Pembroke, ON K8A5T8).
To honour Mat's memory and his dedication to the fire service, the family asks that donations be made to the Ottawa First Responders Foundation, supporting mental-health programs for firefighters.
