It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Richard Joseph Samson of Pembroke, Ontario, who passed away on April 6, 2023, at the age of 72, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his son Aaron; his parents, Paul Samson and Lillian Samson; and his sisters, Nora and Teresa.

He is survived by: his wife Sherry Samson; his sons, Benjamin (Belinda), Nathan (Kristy) and Joel; his grandchildren, Tyler, Eldon, Alyssa, Bentley, Ryann, Aaron and Nolan; and his siblings, Betty Code (late Jim), Rita Chartrand (late Gordon), Roger Samson (Teresa), Marcel Samson (Jan), Paul Samson (late Diane), Suzanne Devine, Mike Samson (Kelly) and Gerald Samson (Sue). He is also survived by many uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.

As an expression of sympathy, donations to the St. Joseph's Food Bank would be appreciated.

“I extend my deepest condolences to Richard's wife Sherry and their sons, to his brother Mike and wife Kelly, and to all of his brothers, sisters and extended family on the loss of Richard. I have not seen Richard for many years, but I remember him as very friendly and easy going, gentle and quick to smile and laugh. He was a tremendous athlete, certainly one of the best all-around athletes that Pembroke and area has ever seen ! He inspired me & many young athletes. Rest in peace Richard. Michael T. Harrington”
