Riley Mathew Hounsome Obituary

HOUNSOME, Riley – It is with broken hearts that we announce that our Riley Mathew passed away peacefully, surrounded by family at C.H.E.O on Monday, July 3, 2023, at the age of 16 years, after a fierce battle with Ewing sarcoma cancer.

Riley Mathew Hounsome of Pembroke, deeply loved son of Mat & Laura Hounsome (nee Moreau). Cherished big brother to Hayden, Harlyn & Madisyn Hounsome. Beloved grandson of Jerry & Sandra Moreau (nee Coghlan) and Wanda Hounsome & Andrew Tardiff, great-grandson of Gail Moreau and Margaret Hounsome & Don Hamilyn. He will be greatly missed by his aunt Jennifer Wood and uncle Mike Wood, whom he had a special bond with; several great-aunts and uncles, many cousins, especially Anthony Moreau. Predeceased by great grandparents Micheal & Marjorie Coghlan (nee Lepine), great grandfather (poppa) Gordon Moreau, aunt Sarah Hounsome and cousin Nathan Sideras. He is greatly missed by his friends and his dog Vella.

Riley loved to sing, he loved old songs. He was an old soul and made everyone laugh. He had a great sense of humor and loved playing games online with his friends. Ri, you will be missed by your family and friends so much. We love you to the moon and back. Riley loved the color purple, we would love it if you would wear something purple for him.

Visitation at the Malcolm, Deavitt & Binhammer Funeral Home, 141 Renfrew St., Pembroke on Saturday, July 8, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., & 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Funeral Service to follow at Calvary Baptist Church at 3:30 p.m. The service will be live streamed via this link https://youtube.com. Interment in Laurentian View Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Go Fund Me page https://gofund.me , Hospice Renfrew or CHEO Candlelighters are appreciated.
