He was predeceased by: his spouse Jenesta Kathen; his children, Marshall Fitzgerald and Kathy Kuczynski; and his brothers, Nelson Kathen and Louis Kathen.

He is survived by: his children, Robert Fitzgerald (Karen), Greg Fitzgerald (Katie), Melissa Best, Belinda Sawyer (Dale), Harry Kathen (Gloria) and Colleen Kathen; his grandchildren, David, Timothy, Paul, Amanda, Tony, Michael, Christopher, Ryan, Stephanie, Jodi and Alisha; and his sisters, Angela Huckabone and Janet Severin.
