Robert Joseph Kearns July 19, 1955 – May 27, 2026
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Robert Joseph Kearns, who sadly departed on May 27, 2026, at Miramichi Lodge Pembroke.

Robert was predeceased by his beloved wife, Margaret Jean Smith; his mother, Margaret Irene Kearns (née Tanguay); and his father, Joseph Kearns. May we all take comfort in the idea that he was at last greeted by his wife’s warm embrace.

He was the loving brother of Andrew Joseph Kearns (Marilyn Kearns) of Winnipeg, Manitoba.
Robert will be deeply missed by his children: Michael Kearns, Michelle Kearns (Todd Maslin) Jessica Kearns (Tylor Newton) and Jeremy Kearns.

He was a proud and loving grandfather to Julia Kearns (Devin Murphy), Laycee Kearns, Clayton McCulloch, Kylee Kearns, Brooklyn McCulloch, Colin Kearns, Bryson Kearns, and Maximus Kearns, and an adored great-grandfather to Maylee and Rayna Kearns.

One of Robert’s grandsons described him best as “a crazy, wise old man who danced to the beat of his own drum.” Robert lived a self-determined and wild life, filled with laughter, humor, and unforgettable moments. He never failed to make people smile, and the world will be a little less funny without him.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the RN’s of Miramichi Lodge and his favoured staff who treated Robert with kindness and respect during his time there.

In accordance with Robert’s wishes, cremation has taken place through Neville Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will be held in the near future, and all who knew and loved Robert are welcome to attend.
