He was predeceased by: his sons, Roy McFarlane, Dwight McFarlane and Deacon Michael McFarlane; his siblings, Patrick, Reginald, Margaret and Eunice; and his parent Benjamin McFarlane.

He is survived by: his spouse Margaret McFarlane; his children, David McFarlane (Audrey), Maple and Colleen Reynolds (Darrell); his children-in-law, Carol McFarlane and Brenda McFarlane; his grandchildren, Kelly-Ann, Shawn, Paul, Adam, Elissa, Stacey and Greg; and his parent Margaret McFarlane.
