He was predeceased by: his parents, Hughie Wheeler and Lorraine Wheeler; his sister Jaunita; his parents-in-law, Cyril and Beverley Farr; and his brother-in-law Kevin Farr.

He is survived by: his wife Laurie; his siblings, Elaine (Russel) of Nova-Scotia, Sonny (Debbie) of Nova-Scotia, Yvonne (Mike) of Nova-Scotia, Nancy of Nova-Scotia, Madeline (Greg) of Nova-Scotia, Vernon (Vickie) of Nova-Scotia, Ross (Alice) of Nova-Scotia, Debbie (Bud) of Nova-Scotia and Wanda (Glen) of Nova-Scotia; his sister-in-law Debbie Farr of Pembroke; and his close friends, Mark, Kathy Prescott, Ron, Kathy Merk and Paul Paris. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Those wishing to make a donation to honour Stan's memory are asked to consider Salthaven Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre or the London Regional Cancer Program.
