He was predeceased by: his siblings, Emma, Lorna, Irene, Lawrence Chaput (Pauline), Michael Chaput (Reina), Earl Chaput (Patricia) and Raymond Chaput (Lise).

He is survived by: his spouse Carmen Chaput; his children, Lynn Larochelle (Robert) of Pembroke, Susan Dunham (Kevin Crigger) of Pembroke and Cheryl Chaput of Pembroke; his grandchildren, Treena and David; and his siblings, Hector (Denise Desbiens) of Port Hope, Wayne (Wendy Potts) of Pembroke, Gerard of Pembroke and Willis of Pembroke.
