He was predeceased by: his grandson William Thomas Blackmore; his siblings, Rene Stencill (Gabe Hahn-Stencill), Carl Stencill (Shirley Demont) and Bessie Turcotte (late Ralph); and his parents, Otto Stencill and Louise Stencill.

He is survived by: his wife Elaine Stencill; his children, John Stencill, Cynthia Stencill, Christine Lavigne (Phil) and Kimberly Stencill; his grandchildren, Connor Stencill, Alexandria Lavigne, Owen Thomas Lavigne, Victoria Chartrand, J. J. Chartrand and Hayden Blackmore; his sister Yvonne Waito Dorothy (Gordie); and his brother-in-law Luke Bisson (Donna). He is also survived by his nieces and nephews.
