He was predeceased by: his parents, Jacob Schalo and Wilhelmina Schalo; and his siblings, Annie Kranz (late Wilfred), Helen Brazeau (late Clayton), Gottlieb "Ernie" Schalo (late Lorraine) and Alfred Schalo (Denise).

He is survived by: his wife Judy Schalo; his children, Paul (Pamela), Barrie, Tammy Durepeau (late Terry), Tabatha Labre, Kevin (Gisele) and Pamela Payne (Roy); his grandchildren, Alex, Natalie Schalo, Michael, Christopher Durepeau, Kaitlyn, Brandon Schalo, Joey, Brandy Schalo, Kodie, Kayla, Karissa and Kyrsten Payne; and his great grandchildren, Johnny, Destiny Wagg, Everleigh Bishop and Sawyer Durepeau. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
