He was predeceased by: his grandson Michael; and his parents, Herbert Rutz and Clara Rutz. He is survived by: his significant other Helen; his children, Sandra Hoffman (Terry), Kevin Rutz (Jean), Sheila Slattery (Ted), Heather Quenneville (Maurice) and Darryl Rutz (Jenine); and his grandchildren, Matthew, Nicholas, Erica, Katie, Scott, Jessica, Ryan, Curtis, Brady and Jonah. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

As an expression of sympathy, donations to Zion Lutheran Church or the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
