She was predeceased by: her husband Bill Hawthorne (Percy William); and her brothers, Stan James, Len James and Ray James. She is survived by: her daughters, Ellen Flaherty (Mike) and Joyce Hawthorne; her grandchildren, Sarah Dalliday (Pete), Jenn Stabler (Andy), Matt Waldron (Lindsey) and Will Waldron; her sister Gladys McNabb (late Harry); and her siblings-in-law, Jean Hawthorne (late Jack), Ken Hawthorne (late Nancy), Margaret Brown (late Roy Hawthorne) and Ruth Moffat. She is also survived by her nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

In memory of Ada, a donation to the Alzheimer's Society of Canada would be appreciated by the family.
