He was predeceased by: his parents, William Doney (Bill) and Charlotte Doney; and his siblings, Celia Steele (George), Helen Spence (Elmer), Doris Rutledge (Harry), Hazel Kinder (George), Inez Barker (Allan), Emerson Doney (Audrey) and Murray Doney.

He is survived by: his brother Mervin Doney; his sister-in-law Edith Doney; his sibling Bancroft; his daughters, Valerie Doney and Heather Reason; his close friend Sharon Roebuck; his granddaughters, Devon Doney and Sarah Jane Reason; and his great grandchildren, Tom and Kenny McConnell.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations can be made to the OFAH - Young Hunter Education Scholarship fund or YWCA of Peterborough.
